FORTISWITCH™-500 PLATFORMS

The FortiSwitch family of Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) and 10 GbE switching platforms meet the growing needs of high-speed interconnect applications driven by server virtualization, data center consolidation, and parallel and cloud computing applications. With FortiSwitch hardware at the core, network operators can build wire speed, resilient, scalable, ultra-low latency fabrics with the simplicity and robustness of standard Ethernet. Fortinet's vScale™ multi-path traffic switching and Dynamic Congestion Avoidance features switch data flows to the lowest latency path - avoiding congestion while maintaining full Ethernet compliance. The fixed-port FortiSwitch-500 1RU platform includes redundant fans, power supplies, and management connections.

FortiSwitch Platforms Benefits

  • Increased flexibility and scalability when deployed in a two-tiered Clos architecture that can significantly scale the number of 10GbE devices supported in a single Ethernet fabric
  • Ultra-low latency and lossless 10 GbE fabric delivers peak performance, regardless of the application
  • Traffic moving across the fabric will be routed around any bottlenecks in real time for the lowest possible latency
  • Low energy requirements with an average power consumption of less than 25 W per port

As a small focused team working on a variety of high profile projects, our main priorities are the quality of our work and the service we provide. IT has never been top of the agenda; the construction industry as a whole continues to use traditional processes and still communicates via fax and post in many instances. However, as more of our partners are working electronically, our IT has become business critical, and the need to secure our IT assets was something we knew we had to address, but without our IT expenditure going through the roof.
