FORTINET WAN MODULE

T1/E1 WAN Connectivity for FortiGate® Multi-Threat Security Systems

The Fortinet ASM-ET4 WAN Module adds up to four (4) full rate T1/E1 wide area network connections to FortiGate-310B and FortiGate-620B multi-threat security appliances. The single width Advanced Mezzanine Card (AMC) module includes four (4) RJ-48C interfaces, fully integrated internal CSU/DSU hardware, complete integration with FortiGate security inspection hardware, and local/remote configuration and monitoring via FortiOS™ Web-based and command-line interfaces. The features of the ASM-ET4 allow for the deployment and monitoring of multiple T1 or E1 circuits from anywhere and at any time - all while maintaining the reduced physical space and power requirement benefits of a single appliance deployment.

Key Features and Benefits

  • T1/E1 WAN Connectivity - Simplifies management of remote infrastructure, while reducing the need for an additional external device to connect T1/E1 links.
  • Modular Form Factor - Empowers customers with the ability to build the ideal system configuration, or upgrade an existing and supported system with an available single-width AMC expansion bay.

Fortinet provides us with a secure environment in a simplified management scheme and very low maintenance. The performance of Fortinet's firewall is second to none. All the required security functions are truly integrated, and the ease of configuration of the FortiGate appliances allowed us to carry out the initial deployment within two weeks in spite of a relatively large and widespread installed base. Today, implementing new VPN tunnels with hotels is a matter of an hour or less. Our goal is to replace the existing ISDN connections from several thousand hotel customers with VPN connections.
